A Gift for Beauty...

Here's the book that won't let the recipients forget who gave it.
It provides an eye-opening tour of just how much beauty can be put into daily objects, in this case the ceramics made in the medieval Islamic regions. While not a textbook, Perpetual Glory does, through discussion of one outstanding collection, give the artistic, technical and social background in which the objects were made.
The book itself is beautifully designed and has superb color photography - as one would expect from its being from the Art Institute of Chicago and Yale University Press.
